a stylish valentine

valentineBLOGcardsPK

my inspiration: the rich colors of magenta pink & peacock blue, a beautiful shawl from my last trip to india, a fashion inspired font and a lotus flower symbolizing our openness to beauty and love.

get creative: the valentine postcard i designed is essentially a blank canvas. ideas that i include here are a photo of yourself to your special someone, a photo of the new baby or the children, a picture drawn for grandma from the little ones, trimmed edges with pinking shears or printed on a color card stock like gray.

hope you enjoy. xo

pretty cool stuff! ;) big fan of magenta and peacock blue myself! even bigger fan of being inspired by something simple and symbolic to me and running with it! Fun to do with kiddies at home! ;) As an art teacher, there is absolutely NOTHING BETTER TO DO with children than to sit down, share some quality time and CREATE! Love that about the joyababy line… you are ALL ABOUT the moments between parents and child and making them special “memories” as well as special/quality everday moments… Thanks!

  4. Wow, I love these!!!!

What a fun idea… any thoughts for what paper you would suggest?

  6. thank you allison, lisa & marisha!

    allison, we heart art teachers!

marisha, re paper suggestions: smooth, heavy card stock of at least cover weight 80# (i like 110#). you can choose 100% post consumer waste paper! (does come in chlorine-free white and other colors) also make sure your at-home printer can handle thick card stock. i did try a slightly textured paper and the printing wasn’t as clear, but that could be my printer.

i believe http://www.paper-source.com has moved to 30% pcw paper.

i also love http://www.dickblick.com for art supplies.

  7. Stunning! I love the lotus flower.
